The Certificate in Leaderful Youth Coaching (CLYC)

Developing Leadership in Young People

The Certificate in Leaderful Youth Coaching is a powerful and intense coach training programme for people that work with young people who are, or are in danger of, becoming disengaged from education, employment or training.

Participants learn powerful coaching principles and practice and a robust process to use with young people on both a group and individual level.  The course is very practically based, learning the tools and techniques of coaching and the skills and behaviours necessary to be highly capable coaches.

The programme centres around motivating and empowering young people to take action that will make positive, focused changes in their lives.  The process explores where the young people are now, not their history or past, but what they do now and what is important to them in the future.  In partnership, goals are set that will be motivational, stretching and highly significant in the young persons life.  The coach will support, challenge and motivate actions from the young person that will move them from their current situation towards their goals.  As they move towards their goal, so confidence, self-esteem and leadership is developed, enabling them to become more self-directing, ambitious and motivated.

We train powerful coaching methods that will support young people fulfilling their potential and at the same time recognise and develop the current skills and talents they have.

Support

As we progress through the course, so we ensure that as much as possible, appropriate attention is given to each trainee to develop effective coaching skills and processes.  Should an individual have difficulty, we make every effort to address this and provide the opportunity to develop in line with their peers.

Continued Coaching Development

We offer a number of advanced coaching solutions to experienced coaches should these be required in the future.  If any individual requires further support than that originally provided, we would be happy to discuss this.
